This is the first piece I have ever sold that wasn't for a client, but strictly for myself. I was part of a silent auction recently, at a studio called SafeHouse in SF. It's the third show I have been in with this group, but this one felt like I had an actual piece to show, and not a study or something I had already created. It was a great experience and a lot of fun. Thanks guys!

EDIT: I added the second stage and third stage of the snowcone building. This was for a game called Critter Island. It has since been pulled down, because of some questionable behavior going on with the company or "companies" involved (for a full story, you should look that one up online, heh). This was right before I moved onto being lead for RavenWood Fair.

Hi. :) I won't bore you with any details, but I moved and then had to find my scanner in all the moving boxes after settling in for a bit. Needless to say, it was more of a task than I would have preferred but I did it, and I'm done. Anyone who has not only moved but moved WITH art supplies knows where I am comin' from, ammirite?!? My little trip to the SF Aquarium. I spent a lot of time on some of these, believe it or not. :P I felt a bit rusty. The SaberTooth skull is only partially done because we had to evacuate the building. I think someone pulled the fire alarm. I wasn't worried about a fire as much as I was slightly peeved that I didn't get to finish what I had started. Ah priorities.

M'kay. This is going to be a personal experiment to see the progression of my work in one day. This is what I am working on right now. It's a personal piece, from my pet project Paper Crown Kings. Meet Sans...the stripe-less tiger. He accompanies King Kay, King Jack and King Turtle on their adventures.

I will post an update by the end of today so you can kind of come with me in the progression of this piece. And I won't have to feel like I am neglecting me 'ol blog here. Sound good? I hope!

} Ferry Sketching {

These are my random ferry sketches. I had this awesome gig for a bit that required a commute on my bike, the B.A.R.T train, a ferry, and my bike again. I am actually not complaining. It was so much fun, and it was incredibly beautiful. I actually saw dolphins jumping. Seriously. I really did.

Anyways, it gave me some time to contemplate life, enjoy sunrises and sunsets, o yeah, and also, to sketch...when I wasn't sleeping or trying to get my work done on the ferry, before work. Enjoy! ;D Best and Cheers you guys!

I have been feeling like I need to get better in colorizing things and also the way I use textures and brushstrokes. Most of my efforts have been digital, so I know right now it's missing the mark, but I am working on it. This is with Painter11 and was just a quick study, on top an old oil study I did at the Academy of Art. Fanx!

This is a quick piece I did for ArtOrder. The challenge was Oso De La Fez, an escapee from the circus. I believe he was created to be a familiar to a previous character challenge on ArtOrder. If you are curious I suggest going straight to the source and maybe even reading the cute little back story to this guy. I found the idea and imagery to be too good to pass up. So here he is. My version of Oso. :D

O yea. One more thing. A few rogue children came and held me and my sketchbook hostage. I am still unsure of what their intentions for doing so were. I only remember bright flashing colors and pony tails darting to and fro. They ate candy and danced and laughed maniacally around me and Mike. It's all so blurry. They made me play games and draw with them. They mentally tortured me as well. They kept asking if I was married, and said " Thirty is old, is your mom still alive?". The horror. I managed to escape narrowly whilst a small grey pigeon distracted them for a split second. I cannot say the same for poor 'ol Mike. I still don't know if he's okay, but the last thing I saw was him waving for me to go on without him. That someone had to warn people of these feral and wayward children. Your bravery will be remembered sir. This is the only documentation I have of the frightening ordeal.

Random noodles from my noodle. It looks like I am being deep and thoughtful, I really don't have a clue what is going on here or why this came out. I wanted to keep my sketches going since my scanner died. It was a bit weird going back to digital sketches. It's not like I don't paint or sketch digitally, but I have not really ever sat down with the sole purpose of just a sketch, and done in the way I would if I had a pen or pencil. I have to say, digital sketching is nice when you need to resize or duplicate things. I only had to draw one horn. Yay! Anyways...here eees digi one.
